Lifestyle: Parent Portal
Research • design • testing
Lifestyle, a subsidiary of the national student housing company Core Spaces, wanted to create an online portal for parents to pay rent, receive property messages, and so on. Though many housing companies use existing services for this, Lifestyle wanted to launch their own service. This would allow for greater flexibility and control, and also for later white labeling.
Competitive Analysis
After compiling a list of housing industry platforms, I completed a competitive analysis of the two major players, Entrata’s Resident Portal and Real Page’s Active Building, going through their key features such as maintenance, payments, etc.
Design
After the findings from the competitive analysis were presented to the client, we prioritized the features that would provide the most value. We created a backlog of features for future releases, but provided a framework for what the designs should look like and the logic they should follow.
Lifestyle’s Parent Portal is currently undergoing user testing.
